A company founder, Dr. Soloways career in education and information technology spans 29 years, the last 10 as a faculty member at the University of Michigan, where he holds appointments within three university colleges/schools (Engineering, Education and Information. He holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer and Information Science from the University of Massachusetts.
For 14 years, Cathie was a high school mathematics and computer science
teacher before moving to the University of North Texas where she is a
professor in the Department of Technology and Cognition. Cathie is the
Past President of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE),
the leading international organization for technology-minded educators.
From 1996 through 2001, she was the President of the National Educational
Computing Association (NECA), the Association that organized NECC, the premier
conference on technology in K-12. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from
the University of North Texas.
Mrs. Liz Ralston Senior VP of Sales and Marketing
Liz Ralston has spent the last 18 years in the education market place selling network and technology solutions, education software applications and on line curriculum and assessment. After 7 years working at MCI selling network infrastructure and data services to the education market place, she moved over to K12 education technology in 1996. Liz is very familiar with online solutions, from online formative assessment to courseware in the virtual school market place. She brings a comprehensive understanding of NCLB, federal and state mandates, and the impact on school district’s needs for standards based instruction, assessment, accountability, narrowing the achievement gap and school reform in K12 education.
Mrs. Christy Burnette Director of Client Services and Inside Sales
Christy Burnette has worked with K-12 schools offering instructional technology solutions for the past eight years at a national level. Her experience includes online learning solutions and various learning management systems, along with the understanding of assessment and evaluation. This role compliments her success with implementation of instructional technology through all facets including curricular, technological, professional development, and long term support for educators using technology to enhance student learning. As the Director of Client Services and Inside Sales, Christy will ensure a successful implementation with mobile learning initiatives at your school.
Juli received her Master of Arts in Learning
Technologies from the University of Michigan. Her primary interest is in using technology to enhance student
learning in the classroom. Prior to completing her graduate work, Juli was a teacher at a school for children
with autism. She also managed a lab at Carnegie Mellon University, researching the effects of emotions on
decision-making. As the Director of Training for GoKnow, Juli can make sure you have the best possible
professional development plan for a successful handheld implementation.
Before
joining GoKnow, Ben worked with the University of Michigan's Center for Highly
Interactive Computing in Education (Hi-CE) for eight years in a wide range of
capacities including web and database development, and web applications programming.
Ben's primary interest lies in developing learner-centered technologies with
practical use in educational settings. Ben is the developer of GoKnow's Palm
OS® Archive and Assessment Manager (PAAM), a web-based tool that allows
teachers to manage and assess their students' work on handheld devices. Ben
completed three years of studies at the University of Michigan College of Engineering
concurrent with his work at Hi-CE.
Kate worked with the University
of Michigan's Center for Highly Interactive Computing in Education (Hi-CE) in
the classroom of their pilot science and technology program, Foundations of
Science, at Community High School. She has been doing web development and programming
for a number of educational research groups and other clients since finishing high school and first became involved in handheld software development while in college.
Kate holds a dual B.S. in Computer Science and English Literature from the University
of Michigan and enjoys playing the banjo.
Harold worked with the University
of Michigan's Center for Highly Interactive Computing in Education (Hi-CE) and
developed an educational video editing tool, PocketVideo, for the Pocket PC.
Harold holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.
